Review what changed before you trust an update

Whenever I update an existing tool, I ask what specifically changed before I trust the new version. Not a general summary, the actual list of what's different from before.

Updates can quietly change something that had nothing to do with the original request, and that kind of drift is easy to miss if you just glance at the result and move on. Reviewing the exact list of changes, however short, keeps you in control of your own tool instead of hoping nothing broke along the way. It's a small habit, and it catches real problems more often than you'd expect.

Try this today: the next time you update a working tool, ask for the exact list of what changed and check each item against the version you had before.
