Not every task deserves automation
Some tasks are rare enough, small enough, or personal enough that building a workflow for them costs more time than it ever saves. Automation is a tool for repetition, not a goal on its own.
It's tempting to automate everything once you've had one or two wins, but a task you do twice a year probably isn't worth the setup time, the testing, or the upkeep. Worse, some tasks genuinely need a human touch every time — a difficult client conversation, a decision that depends on context a workflow can't see, a message that needs real warmth. Forcing those into a workflow usually makes the outcome worse, not faster.
Ask how often a task repeats and how much it depends on judgment before deciding it's worth automating at all.
Try this today: look at your list of "should I automate this" ideas and cross off anything that happens rarely or depends heavily on personal judgment.
