Data entry is the easiest first automation win

If you are looking for a place to start automating instead of hiring, data entry is about as safe a starting point as it gets. Moving information from one place to another, like from a form into a spreadsheet, follows the exact same steps every single time, with almost no judgment involved. Data entry was the first thing I ever automated in my own work, mostly because a mistake there was easy to spot and easy to undo. That makes it a low risk, high relief place to prove automation actually works for your business.

This matters because a lot of owners jump straight to automating something complicated and get discouraged when it does not go smoothly. Starting with plain data entry builds confidence with almost no downside, since a mistake is easy to spot and easy to fix.

Try this today: find the one place where you are still manually copying information from one tool into another, and set up a simple automated connection between them.
