Keep clips short enough to finish

A clip that nobody finishes might as well not exist, no matter how good the point inside it actually is. I check every clip against one question before I post it, would a stranger with no patience watch this whole thing. If the honest answer is no, I cut it down further or split it into more than one piece.

This matters because a clip's value depends entirely on people actually reaching the end, since that is where most of the payoff usually lives in a short piece. A long clip that loses most viewers halfway through delivers far less value than a shorter one that people actually finish watching.

Try this today: watch your last clip back and ask honestly at what point your attention would have wandered if you were seeing it cold, with no reason to be patient. Cut everything after that point, or split it into a shorter piece and a follow-up. Shorter and finished beats longer and abandoned.
