Try more than one hook on the same idea
When I have an idea I really believe in, I do not settle on the first opening line I think of. I write out a few different hooks for the same point, say each one out loud, and pick whichever one creates the most tension or curiosity. The underlying idea never changes, only the door I use to walk people into it.
This matters because the same solid idea can land completely differently depending on how it opens. A flat hook can bury a genuinely useful point, while a sharper one on the exact same content can carry it much further. Testing hooks costs almost nothing compared to the difference it makes in how far a post travels.
Try this today: take your strongest idea from this week and write a few different opening lines for it, each with a slightly different angle. Read them out loud back to back and notice which one makes you want to keep listening. Use that one, and keep the others in your swipe file for later.
