Renewal reminders should start earlier than feels natural
By the time a renewal date is close, most of the useful window for a reminder has already passed. People need time to notice the message, think about it, and actually act, not a same-day nudge that arrives right as the deadline hits them.
Start renewal reminders well ahead of the actual date, even if it feels early to you. A first mention with plenty of runway, followed by a closer reminder if nothing has happened yet, gives the client room to respond without feeling rushed or caught off guard by the timing.
This early timing also protects your own cash flow and scheduling, since you're not scrambling to process last-minute responses right at the deadline itself. I push my own reminders earlier than feels natural for this exact reason, and it always pays off.
Try this today: check when your current renewal reminders go out, and if it's close to the actual date, move the first one earlier so there's real room to respond.
