Say the quiet part about job fears out loud

Plenty of people quietly worry that AI on the team means fewer people will be needed, and that fear doesn't go away just because nobody mentions it. I raise this directly with every team I sit down with, because the silence around it always does more damage than the honest conversation would. If you stay silent, people fill the gap with their own worst guesses and start slow-walking the whole rollout without ever saying why. Address it directly and honestly, explaining what the tool is meant to take off someone's plate and what it isn't meant to replace at all. If your intent really is to free people up for better work rather than cut headcount, say that plainly and mean it, because people can tell the difference between a real promise and a talking point. Trust is what makes any of this stick, and trust starts with saying the hard thing before someone has to ask.

Try this today: bring up the job security question directly at your next team meeting, before anyone has to work up the nerve to ask it themselves.
