Give new clients a simple map of what happens next
New clients spend a surprising amount of energy wondering what comes next. Did they do their part right. Is it your turn now. When will they hear from you again. A short map of the process removes all of that guessing in one clean move.
This doesn't need to be fancy. I keep my own version to a single page, since the simplest map is the one people actually read. A simple list of the steps in order, with a rough sense of who does what and when, answers most of the questions a client would otherwise send you one at a time by email throughout the week.
Share this map right after someone signs on, before they have a chance to wonder. It sets expectations early and gives them something to point back to instead of asking you directly every single time they're unsure.
Try this today: write out the steps of your onboarding process in plain order, and turn that list into something you can hand every new client on their very first day.
