Let your transcript write your captions

Every recording already has a caption sitting inside it. I pull my transcript first, then find the sentences that carry the whole point, and that becomes my caption. I am not writing from a blank page. I am editing down words I already said out loud, which almost always sound more natural than something typed fresh at a desk.

This matters because captions written from scratch tend to sound stiff, like a summary instead of a voice. Your spoken words already carry your rhythm and your phrasing.
