Give each project one point of contact

A single point of contact means one named person your team and clients go to for updates on a given project, instead of everyone reaching for the founder by default. It sounds obvious, but most small businesses never actually set it up.

Without a clear point of contact, every question about a project lands on whoever is easiest to reach, which is usually the founder because their contact information is everywhere. That habit quietly makes you the bottleneck on every project at once. I have noticed how quickly I become the default contact the moment I do not name someone else, simply because my own information is everywhere already.

Try this today: pick your busiest project right now and name one person, not you, as the point of contact for questions about it. Tell everyone involved plainly so the habit of reaching for you actually breaks.
