Ask for a few approaches before picking one

On anything that isn't obvious, I ask Claude Code to lay out a few different ways to build it before committing to one. Seeing the choices side by side helps me pick with my eyes open instead of taking the first idea offered.

The first approach a coding session suggests is often the fastest one to describe, not necessarily the one that fits your business best. Comparing options, even briefly, surfaces tradeoffs you'd otherwise never hear about, like one approach being simpler to change later while another is faster to build today. That short comparison is worth the extra minute almost every time.
