Block time to think like you block a meeting

Thinking time is a block on your calendar reserved for planning, reading, or working through a hard problem, protected the same way you protect a meeting with a client. Without it, thinking only happens in the scraps of time left over, which is usually never.

Busy owners fill every open slot with calls and small tasks, then wonder why they never step back to see the bigger picture. The bigger picture only shows up when you actually give it dedicated time, not the leftovers of a packed day. I protect mine the same way I protect a client call, and the weeks I let it get bumped are always the weeks I feel like I am only reacting.

Try this today: block an hour on your calendar this week labeled for thinking, and defend it exactly like you would a meeting with a paying client. Use it for the one question you keep meaning to sit with and never do.
