Set one simple rule for local versus cloud

Trying to decide, task by task, whether something belongs on a local model or a cloud tool gets exhausting fast. A simpler approach is picking one clear rule ahead of time and sticking to it without renegotiating every time you are busy. Something like, anything with a client's name or real numbers stays local, everything else can go to cloud.

The rule does not need to be perfect. It needs to be simple enough that you actually follow it on a rushed afternoon, not just when you have time to think it through carefully. I picked a version of this rule for my own work, and the relief of not relitigating it every single time surprised me. A good rule removes decisions instead of adding them.

Share the same rule with anyone else on your team who touches AI tools, so the whole business follows one standard instead of everyone guessing on their own.

Try this today: write your local versus cloud rule in one sentence and post it somewhere your whole team can see it.
