Write down what runs your business
I keep a single page that lists every tool my business depends on, what each one does, who owns it, and roughly what it costs. It is not fancy, just a plain document anyone on the team can open and understand in a minute.
This matters because most of that knowledge normally lives only in someone's head. If that person is out sick, moves on, or simply forgets, the business loses track of what is actually holding everything together. A written list turns hidden knowledge into something anyone can pick up and act on, whether that is troubleshooting a problem or planning a change.
It also makes it much easier to spot overlap and waste, since seeing every tool laid out on one page shows patterns you would never notice tool by tool.
Try this today: start a simple document and list every tool your business runs on, one line each. Add the owner and rough cost for each, and share it with your team so nobody has to guess.
