Decide in advance what needs a human sign-off

Not every message needs your personal review before it goes out, but some absolutely do. The mistake most people make is deciding this in the moment, which means the decision changes depending on how busy or tired they happen to be that day. I learned this by trial and error myself, which is why I keep my own list written down instead of trusting my mood. Decide it ahead of time instead.

Make a short list of message types that always need a human to read them before sending — anything about money, anything that could upset someone, anything unusual. Everything else can run on its own once you trust the system behind it.

Having this list written down means you're not relying on memory or mood to catch the messages that matter most. It also makes it much easier to hand parts of the process to someone else later, because the rule is already spelled out clearly.

Try this today: write a short list of the message types in your process that should never go out without a human reading them first.
