Put automation check-ins on your actual calendar

An automation that nobody looks at will eventually break without anyone knowing. Put a recurring reminder on your calendar to review your automations, the same way you would review your bank account or your inbox.

This matters because automations are built once and then forgotten, while the world around them keeps changing — a form field gets renamed, a vendor updates their tool, a process the automation depends on quietly shifts. None of that shows up unless someone goes looking. A calendar reminder turns "I should check on that sometime" into an actual habit, which is the only version of that sentence that ever works.

The review itself does not need to be long. Skim the run log, glance at anything flagged, and ask whether the process still matches how the business actually works.

Try this today: add a recurring reminder to your calendar for a short automation review, and pick the day it starts.
