Put a human approval before anything goes out

An approval step is a pause built into a workflow where a person checks the work before it leaves the building — before an email sends, before a payment goes through, before a post goes live. It's the seatbelt on an otherwise automatic process.

Skipping this step is where automation gets a bad name. I keep one rule for my own builds: a workflow can draft a reply, fill a form, or schedule a post perfectly well on its own, but the moment something touches money, a client, or the public, a person should glance at it first. The tool is fine. The cost of a mistake is just higher than the time it takes to check.

A good rule: automate the busywork leading up to the decision, and keep the decision itself with a person, at least until the workflow has proven itself over time.

Try this today: pick one automated step that currently fires without review and add a quick approval before it runs again.
